Renucci House Donation

On Tuesday, August 3rd 2021, Board members Skip Micele and Denise Taylor delivered our IACWM donation to the Renucci House. In the foyer is a portrait of past IACWM members, Peter and Patricia Renucci, lead donors to the Renucci House.

The Renucci House was built in 1999, thanks to generous donors, including Peter and Patricia Renucci. The Renucci Hospitality House provides homelike and affordable accommodations for families whose loved ones are patients at Spectrum Health Butterworth, Blodgett or Helen DeVos Children’s hospitals. The House offers a comfortable, convenient and home-like setting to offer families who are often in the middle of a medical emergency. Five or six days every week, volunteers spend countless hours preparing complimentary meals for the guests. Each month approximately 320 families stay at the Renucci House, which is the largest hospitality house in Greater Grand Rapids and among the largest in the country. More than 53,000 families have stayed there to date.

The IACWM will be accepting items for another donation to be made in the fall: individually wrapped chips, crackers, cookies, fruit snacks, granola bars, etc. or small travel size toiletries are appreciated.
